There are three major tasks in the project: to test already elaborated methodology of valuation of biological assets of forests for annual calculations, and to evaluate the value of biological assets of Latvian forests in monetary terms, to evaluate the condition of forest resources, the regulations governing forest management and the results of reaching the goals set in the Rural Development Plan regarding the capital value of the forest and to prepare proposals how to increase efficiency of the forest resource management and how to improve regulatory environment.

This project is conducted by two partners. LBTU is responsible for calculations and proposals related to financial (incl. Support policy) questions.
