The main objectives of the study are: (1) to establish more competitive, economically efficient and sustainable standard farming models in the cow’s milk and beef production sectors in Latvia; (2) to develop specific recommendations for the development of the cow's milk and beef production sector in Latvia. Detailed analysis of the current practice is conducted and the most competitive business models are selected as a standard best practices. Easy to use mathematical model for both sectors is elaborated.

Broad list of recommendations for farms, advisory service institutions and for the policy makers have been prepared to facilitate sustainable development of the both cow’s milk and beef production sectors.
